Great Lakes Foods is currently seeking a Transportation Administrative Assistant.

The Job's primary tasks and duties include, but not limited to:

To assist the transportation department with data entry, reporting, and tracking of information, to assist with calls pertaining to deliveries, routes, and orders.

Duties

  • Performs clerical duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor
  • Assist with transportation schedules, deliveries, and backhauls
  • Maintain detailed records of vehicles and equipment related to the transportation department
  • Assist driver inquiries pertaining to routes, backhauls, and directions
  • Communicate to the other departments any transportation or delivery changes that affect daily operations
  • Process work orders and invoices from the transportation and building maintenance departments
  • Manage bulk fuel records
  • Administer driver files, both electronic and hard copies
  • Support other departments with inquiries or requests pertaining to the transportation department
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Essential Qualifications

  • Adept in communication, organization, accountability, and customer service skills
  • Time management skills to prioritize and complete a wide variety of tasks throughout the day
  • Organization skills to keep accurate records and find important information quickly
  • Verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly with drivers, customers, vendors, and other employees
  • Experience with telephone; data entry; filing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be energetic hard-working motivated self-starter
  • Possess a willingness to help others succeed
  • Previous experience in the motor carrier industry is desirable
  • High School diploma required, some college a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
